Kevin Tomlinson
5th June 2015
On Friday night the audience at Staverton Village Hall were treated to a performance by actor and improviser Kevin Tomlinson.
Along with his assistant Abi Hood, Kevin performed to a near capacity audience. His improvised comedy used lines from popular songs which were written on paper by members of the audience, scattered over the stage and then chosen at random during the sketch – though I never expected to hear Morrissey’s ‘I bear more grudges than lonely high court judges’ in the performance!
In the mix of comedy there was also audience participation when one member of the audience was invited on stage to answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions about his childhood living with his grandma.
Several wig and costume changes were used to good effect. The use of various masks and characters using Kevin’s own life experiences made for a magical night of comedy.
